The figure
diagrams in Drafting & Fitting Pants and
Skirts show where and how to measure. Charts
keep track of the measurements in numbered
cells. Later, charts refer back to previous
pages for measurements in their charts'
numbered cells, making the measurements easy
to retrieve. Drafting for atypical figures
is addressed throughout the book.
The
diagram on the left shows how to
measure a woman with a stomach
circumference that is larger than
her hip circumference. This is one
example of the many atypical fitting
variations presented in this book.
All of the book's atypical and
traditional fit information was
researched and developed with and
for the many adult students who
drafted, tested, and developed their
pant patterns in the author's IFM
classrooms in Philadelphia.
