Understanding how
the garment should lay over the body is essential to
achieving good fit. That is why the fitting diagrams
in Drafting & Fitting Pants and Skirts show the body
underneath the muslins. One can learn from the
diagram below for example, the amount of ease
needed in a muslin, and where that ease should lay
in relationship to the body.
Many students in the Industrial Fashion Methods
program have told Laurel that until they were in her
class they had never worn a garment that fit
correctly. They said they were surprised to learn
that a garment that fits well is very comfortable. |
